The Pundit Says...

September 26th, 2010

The Pundit was already crazy about New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and his tough, take-no-prisoners stand against the big spending, ballooning taxation, and union strong-arming that have led his state to the brink of bankruptcy.  But now that she knows more about his background and history, she's even MORE crazy about him.  According to a recent issue of Townhall Magazine: "Governor Christie previously served seven years as a U.S. Attorney, appointed to his post during the George W. Bush administration.  While some critics in the legal community complained that he lacked experience for the job, Christie and the 137 lawyers who worked under his direction chalked up convictions and guilty pleas for 130 corrupt public officials of BOTH parties at every level of government.  In seven years, he didn't lose a single case."

The Pundit lived in New Jersey for several years back in the late 1970's/early 1980's.  Even at that time, taxes were high and corruption was rampant, though thankfully, not as egregious as they are now.  The good people of New Jersey (a much-maligned, yet very liveable state) deserve better than what their bloated government has been giving them, and it looks like Governor Christie is just the man to "clean house" and get his state back on track towards fiscal solvency.
