Most of you know that when someone joins our U.S. Military, they recite a pledge in the presence of an Officer.  The Pundit recently had the privilege of attending a swearing-in ceremony and watched her husband administer this stirring oath of service to a young Air Force recruit.  The young lady who took the oath represents everything that is so exceptional about the United States of America.  She voluntarily and eagerly agreed to accept the responsibility of serving and defending our country.  The Pundit was so moved by this event that she thought those of us who feel a deep allegiance to the Tea Party principles might also want to cement their commitment by taking the “Tea Party Pledge”.  So enlist the assistance of a trusted family member or friend and ask them to administer the pledge that follows.

Begin by facing your friend or family member and raising your right hand.  They should then read the following pledge aloud, with you repeating after them.  To make the pledge flow more smoothly, I’ve noted places where the person administering the pledge to you should pause so you can repeat:
